“However you, O Lord, are a protect about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. Psalm 3:3-4

I like that this Bible verse begins with the phrase “however.” Although such a bit phrase, it refers again to conditions which can be overwhelming the author, to the difficulty he was having along with his enemies, and to absolutely the hopelessness of his having the ability to survive only one thing more.

In our lives right now, on this trendy world, it is not fame, cash, relationships or social standing that provides us worth, however it’s the Lord alone and his presence in our life that really provides us significance.   

However you, O Lord, are the lifter of my head. All too usually, a lot is thrown at us that our head simply naturally bows down from its weight.
