TMZ.com
Neil deGrasse Tyson is amused by Elon Musk and others who assume AI know-how is a menace to humanity … he thinks the doomsday bunch are watching too many motion pictures.
We bought the famed astrophysicist at LAX Wednesday, and he snickered at Musk, Steve Wozniak and 1,100 others who sounded the alarm in an open letter that AI has grow to be a “harmful race” that might imperil our very existence … they need a 6-month moratorium on AI improvement to evaluate the dangers.
The way in which Neil sees it … it is nothing new. We’ve seen the twists and turns triggered by the technological revolution for greater than 100 years. When jobs get changed by machines, folks discover new jobs. And here is the massive level … if AI ultimately takes over all jobs, we will all go to the seaside. In any case, going to work just isn’t embedded in our DNA, so society might reimagine how people stay.
The seaside vs. work … so who you rootin’ for?
