Mark Sheehan, the lead guitarist for Irish rock band The Script, has died following a “transient sickness,” the group shared on social media Friday. He was 46.

“A lot cherished husband, father, brother, band mate and buddy Mark Sheehan handed away at present in hospital after a short sickness. The household and group ask followers to respect their privateness at this tragic time,” the band’s official Instagram web page wrote alongside a photograph of Sheehan.

The Script shaped in Dublin in 2001 and included Sheehan, lead singer and keyboardist Danny O’Donoghue and drummer Glen Energy. The band is thought for 2012’s “Corridor of Fame,” 2009 observe “Earlier than the Worst” and 2008’s hit songs “The Man Who Cannot Be Moved” and “Breakeven.”

Sheehan took day without work of the group’s Biggest Hits Tour in 2022 for household commitments, bandmate Danny O’Donoghue confirmed to Sunday World in Might.
